"
Jason Vittone was gracious enough to call my coach (Roger Ternes) and he was the one that called and let me know I was inducted," said Gastineau. "So that was special, when the person that gave you the opportunity to be where you are as an athlete and as a coach, give you the call."
She added, "Obviously it is a high honor and I love William Woods, as it is my alma mater and I've got ties as a student-athlete, coach and now as an administrator."
In her first season with the team, Gastineau was named AMC and NFCA Midwest Coach of the Year, after guiding the Owls to a 45-13 overall record and going 9-1 in the AMC.
Since then, she has continued to add on to her already impressive coaching career, as she has accumulated 592 wins, five AMC Coach of the Year honors, two Region V Coach of the Year awards, four AMC regular and postseason titles and led the team to six NAIA National Tournament appearances.
Prior to her coaching at WWU, Gastineau was a standout athlete at William Woods, where she received softball all-district honors in both 1992 and 1993. She was also an all-district performer on the Owls basketball team during her senior season.
