MOBILE, Ala. – The No. 10 William Woods University men's tennis team fell to No. 6 Keiser University (Fla.) in the second round of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championships Wednesday, 5-2.
The loss broke the Owls' 16-game winning streak and concluded their season with a 22-3 season record.
The Owls possessed a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of doubles play.
Aaron Westerlund and
Javier Callejo won 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles. In the No. 2 spot,
Oscar Barreiro and
Christopher Vleeming Ortiz scraped out a 9-7 win.
Those would serve as the Owls' only two points of the match. Keiser grabbed their four needed points over the Owls to secure the win.
