The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2020 NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Athletes and the Men's and Women's All-Academic Teams Thursday afternoon. William Woods University women's cross country placed all seven of their eligible runners from the NAIA National Championships on the list. The women's team also earned the Team All-Academic award.
The seven from the women's cross country team were:
Ellie Dimond,
Alicia Engelbrecht,
Faith Gerling,
Mary Grover,
Elizabeth Luebbert,
Harley Nale and
Kimi Putnam. This is the second time Engelbrecht and Nale have earned this honor.
The USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors student-athletes who have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 in addition to competing at the NAIA National Championships.
The women's team also earned the Team All-Academic award as they posted a cumulative GPA of 3.61.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
