Zrodowska Makes Cut to Advance, Owls End Season at NAIA National Championships

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The William Woods University women's golf team shot a 330 on round two of the NAIA National Championships, dropping them to 27th place. Maria Zrodowska will advance to the third round on Thursday, May 27. Unfortunately, the team did not make the cut to advance to the final two days of the Championships.
 
Following round two, the 30-team field is cut to the top-17 teams and the top-40 individuals.
 
Zrodowska's tee time will be announced later this evening.

Round Two Recap
Maria Zrodowska shot six over on round two, moving her two-round score to 152. She started the day with a bogey on hole one, but finished hole two with a birdie to even her score. She shot three pars before shooting a bogey to go up one. After another par, she shot a bogey. She closed out the front half with a par to go into the back nine up by two strokes, 38. She shot three pars to start the back nine. A bogey on hole 13 and a triple bogey on hole 16 put her up by six. She shot pars on the other four holes to end the round with a 78.
 
Victoria Hooker finished second on the round for the Owls, shooting 11 over par. She shot a birdie on hole two to go one under par early in the round. After a par, she shot two double bogeys on holes four and six, followed by two bogeys to go up by five strokes. She finished the front half of the course with a par. She opened the back nine with a par before shooting two more bogeys. After a par on hole 13's par three, she shot a double bogey followed by a bogey to go up 10 strokes. She closed out the round with two pars and a bogey to finish the day with an 83. 
 
Jennah Schell finished third for the Owls in round two. She shot 12 over par for an 84. She shot a bogey to start the day. Every other hole was a par for through the first five holes, but a double bogey on hole six put her up by five strokes. She finished out the front nine with two pars and a bogey to head to the back nine up six strokes. She opened the back nine with three straight pars. After a bogey put her up by seven, she recorded a birdie on hole 14's par five to go back down to six. She had a rough end to the day, putting up six strokes through the final three holes.
 
Krystal Burgtorf shot an 85 on round two, finishing 13 strokes over par. A birdie started the day for her followed by a par, but a triple bogey rounded out the first three holes. She shot four bogeys, a double bogey and a par to finish the front nine eight over par. She opened the back nine with two pars and a birdie. Through the next three holes, she shot a par and two double bogeys to go up 11 strokes. In the final three holes, she shot two bogeys and a par to finish five over on the back.
 
Paige Hawkins rounded out the Owls team in round two. After a round start to the day with two bogeys and a triple bogey, she finished out the front nine with four pars and two bogeys, heading to the back nine seven over par. She shot four bogeys and a double bogey through the first five holes on the back half, going up 13 strokes. She closed out the round with three pars and a bogey to finish 14 over par with an 86.
