KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On the heels of sweeping the American Midwest Conference Championships, the William Woods University women's cross country team remained receiving votes in the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The team received 65 votes.
The RV Owls most recently won the AMC Championships, tying for the second lowest point total in an AMC Championship. With their dominating win, the Owls earned the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. on Nov. 18.
Alicia Engelbrecht won the individual title, finishing the course in a time of 18:39.61. She was named AMC Runner of the Year after the Championships.
Crystal Ruden was named the AMC Freshman of the Year, and the team placed five on the All-AMC Team. The coaching staff of
Dan Schwab,
Ryan Bontz and
Austin Bestgen were tabbed the 2022 AMC Coaching Staff of the Year.
