FAYETTE, Mo. – The William Woods University women's golf team placed third out of eight in their season-opener at the CMU Fall Invitational hosted by Central Methodist.
The Owls shot a 357 in round one, sitting in third place. They finished the second round with a 354 to finish with a 711.
Maria Ortiz Rozo tied for ninth as she led the Owls. She shot an 83 in the first round followed by a 91 for a 174 total. On the day, she shot one birdie, 15 pars, 12 bogeys and eight double+ bogeys.
Jennah Schell and
Allyson Hollrah tied for 11
th with a 177. Schell shot an 87 followed by a 90 with two birdies, 10 pars, 16 bogeys and eight double+ bogeys. Hollrah shaved off 13 strokes from her first round score for an 82 round two finish, shooting 16 pars, nine bogeys and 11 double+ bogeys.
Hope Tuttle placed 19
th as she shot 11 pars, 16 bogeys and nine double+ bogeys for a 183 (92-91), and
Alissa Olson placed 23
rd with a 188 (96-92). Olson shot two birdies, five pars, 15 bogeys and 13 double+ bogeys.
Emma Fisher,
Maddison Fenner and
Halle Luetkemeyer all played as individuals. Fisher tied for 32
nd with a 205 (100-105), Fenner placed 40
th (107-113=220), and Luetkemeyer tied for 45
th (121-127=248).
