MONMOUTH, ILL. – (RESULTS) - The William Woods University Women's track and field team participated in the Roger Haynes Invitational hosted by Monmouth College Saturday afternoon.
Mekayla Gibson sets a new 5,000m PR, just missed the National standard by 3 seconds.
Nia Hawkins, Trinity Thomas, Madison Dixon went 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th place in the 200m dash.
Katie French adds another first-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.52m.
 
Sprints

• Madison Dixon – qualified for finals and placed fourth with a 8.33 time, matching her PR.
• In the 200m dash, Nia Hawkins placed second with a 28.16 time, Trinity Thomas placed third with a 28.61 time, and Madison Dixon placed fourth with a 28.64 time.

Distance

• Mekayla Gibson won the 5,000 meter run with a 18:31.53 time, barely missing the National standard.
• Tara Lowe set a new PR in the mile with a 5:56.73 time, third place finish.
• Hailey Gerard set a new PR in the mile with a 6:08.54 time, fifth place finish.
• Kyah Weirich set a new PR in the mile with a 6:10.63 time, sixth place finish.

Jumps

• Nia Hawkins placed second in long jump with 5.09m.
• Trinity Thomas placed third in long jump with 4.97m, and third place in triple jump with 10.00m.

Relays

• The 4x200 meter relay comprised of Nia Hawkins, Madison Dixon, Emma Clifford, Trinity Thomas placed third with a 1:53.16 time.
• The 4x400 meter relay comprised of Myra Baker, Nia Hawkins, Lauren Imler, Trinity Thomas placed fourth with a 4:39.20 time, making it a season best.

 
Throws

• Katie French won the shot put with a throw of 13.52m, and placed third in the weight throw with 15.58m.
