ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Mekayla Gibson finds herself in the spotlight once again after the Owls took part in the Larry Young Invitational at Columbia College on September 20th. The Woods' distance runner earned her second AMC Runner of the Week award of the season and sixth of her career for her commanding performance.

Gibson medaled at the competition after posting a time of 18:43:7 in the 5K event, finishing fifth out of all 168 runners and first out of the 35 AMC runners. Not only did the performance earn herself fifth, but bolstered the Women's Cross Country team into fifth place as well, besting 14 others. 

Gibson was joined by Columbia College's Will Cherrington on the men's side.
