LAWRENCE, Kan.— William Woods cross country returned to the course this weekend at the highly esteemed Bob Timmons Rim Rock Classic hosted by the University of Kansas. The Jayhawks ran away with the first-place finish on both sides, followed by their NCAA DI peers. This weekend was about getting back on the course, and fighting through the heat as all of the central United States was under an excessive heat warning for extreme temperatures.
On the women's side (5000m), William Woods held their own finishing in fifth place out of seven teams. The Owls eclipsed The University of Missouri-Kansas City and Baker University, who finished in sixth and seventh place respectively. CSU-Pueblo, Rockhurst and Oral Roberts finished out the top four behind the Jayhawks.

In the men's 6000m run, The Woods finished in ninth place in a field of nine teams. Kansas, CSU-Pueblo, Oral Roberts, Haskell Indian Nations, Rockhurst, UMKC, KU Running Club, and Baker all finished ahead of the young WWU group.
