Brian Winkelmann is in his first year as a student assistant. 

A first generation college student, he also serves in the army. Winkelmann assists the staff in addition to competing in the 400-meter and 400-meter hurdles. He is in his fourth year of college here at WWU. While being at WWU, he has been deployed to the middle east in 2019.

Winkelmann is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in exercise science with a concentration in human performance.
