Joe Stachowicz

Josef Stachowicz is in his second season as an assistant coach for the William Woods University track and field team. He will have an emphasis in throws.

Under the watch of Stachowicz last year, the Owls track and field team totaled 20 AMC All-Conference honorees, set four new school records and one national runner-up in the weight throw (Anthony Stockton).
 
Stachowicz comes to William Woods after a successful throwing career at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he was named the team captain during his senior year.  The Whitehall, Mich., native was a two-time Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference champion in the hammer throw. He was also a 14-time All-WHAC selection during his five-year career for the Saints.
 
He made three appearances at the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the hammer throw (2010, ‘12, ‘13). Also qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships during the 2012 & 2013 seasons in the weight throw.
 
Stachowicz served as the throws coach for Creston High School in Grand Rapids from 2010-13. He is a certified track and field official for the Michigan High School Athletics Association.
 
He graduated from Aquinas College in the spring of 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in history and will be pursuing a masters in Athletic Administration at William Woods.
