Tanner Johnson

Tanner Johnson joined William Woods University in the fall of 2023 as an assistant archery coach, bringing over a decade of competitive archery experience and more than four years of working in the archery and firearms industry. His passion and expertise quickly made an impact, culminating in a promotion to Head Coach of the Archery and Shotgun teams in April 2024.
Under Coach Johnson's leadership, the WWU teams have consistently excelled. In the fall of 2023, he achieved two podium finishes at the USA Archery Regionals 3D Shoot and led three individuals to compete at the USA Archery 3D Nationals. The momentum continued into the spring of 2024, with six individual placings at the MAA Indoor State Shoot.

In the fall of 2024, Coach Johnson guided standout performances, including securing HOA Male at the State Fair Community College Trap Shoot and HOA Female at the William Woods University Skeet Exhibition Shoot. One of his students also achieved a third-place victory at the prestigious Lindenwood University Open Shoot.
Coach Johnson's dynamic leadership, extensive experience, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire WWU athletes to reach their highest potential. His track record of success on and off the field makes him a vital asset to the university's archery and shotgun programs.
