Tyron Clemencia

Tyron Clemencia enters his second year as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Owls' men’s and women’s track and field teams.

In his first season as the sprints and javelin coach, Clemencia was part of the coaching staff to help the women's team winning the 2021 AMC outdoor conference title while the men's team finished second. He coached seven all-conference placers including the women's 4x100m relay team, women's 400m, and women's javelin to conference champions.  He coached Natalie Thomas in the Javelin to qualify her for the NAIA Outdoor Nationals where she finished 16th in the nation as a freshman.

In 2019, he worked with the sprints group at Nicolet High School which included the women's 4x200m relay that finished first place at the Division 1 Wisconsin State Championship and third place finisher in the 4x100m relay. Both these teams set a new school record of 47.63 (4x100) and 1.41.78 (4x200). They finished in fifth place with the women team points. 

Originally from Curacao, The Kingdom of the Netherlands, Clemencia started running track as a sprinter and competed internationally in Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica. In Jamaica, he ran at the same meet as Usain Bolt, the world record holder in the 100, 200 and 4x100m. He is also the Curacao National Championship runner-up in the 4x100m relay and third place National finisher in the Javelin.
 
Clemencia participated in track and field at Cloud County Community College in Kansas where he competed in short sprints and javelin. In 2017, they finished indoor and outdoor conference second and third, respectively. From there, he moved on to Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin and added the shot put.
 
He earned an Associates and a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and now is pursuing his Masters of Business Administration.
