Justin Coleman enters his second season as Defensive Coordinator after being promoted to the position in the winter of 2025. Coleman initially joined the program in 2024 as the first Special Teams Coordinator in program history while also serving as the team's linebackers coach.
Prior to William Woods, Coleman began his collegiate coaching career in 2023 at NCAA Division II Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico. As the Linebackers Graduate Assistant, he worked closely with the defensive unit and played a key role in the development of the Lonestar Conference Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.
Before entering the coaching profession, Coleman enjoyed a successful collegiate playing career at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota, where he graduated in 2022. A three-year starting safety, he finished his career with 111 total tackles, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.
