Owls Drop Match to CMU

Herchenroeder Records Four Saves
(FULTON, Mo., Oct. 12)--The William Woods University men's soccer team lost 1-0 to visiting Central Methodist University on Tuesday night on Firley Field. The Owls fall to 8-4-1 on the season.

The teams went to halftime scoreless. William Woods recorded five shots in the opening half. Central Methodist had four shots in the first 45 minutes of play.

Tyler Sevon scored the lone goal for CMU in the 75th minute. He scored on an assist from Murun Altanhuyag.

WWU had nine shots on the evening. The Owls put four shots on goal in the loss. Junior Christyan Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and junior Ruben Ramirez (Homestead, Fla.) each had two shots for the Owls. Each put one shot on goal.

Senior Cory Herchenroeder (St. Louis, Mo.) had four saves in the loss.

Central Methodist (5-6-1) had 10 shots on the night. The Eagles put five shots on goal.

William Woods will return to action on October 16 at American Midwest Conference rival McKendree University. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm in Lebanon, Ill.
