WWU Men Lose to Rogers State
(CANTON, Mo., Nov. 20)--The William Woods University men's basketball team lost 53-75 to Rogers State University in the Culver-Stockton College Classic on Saturday. The Owls fall to 1-7 on the season.
Rogers State took a 36-22 lead into halftime. RSU shot 41.2% from the field in the first half. The Owls shot 23.1% from the field in the opening 20 minutes of play.
Rogers State outscored the Owls 39-31 in the second half to earn the victory.
Sophomore
Logan Decker (Kansas City, Mo.) led the Owls with 11 points. Freshman
Jonathon Nutt (Palmyra, Mo.) and junior
Andrew Miller (Whangamata, New Zealand) each added nine points for WWU in the loss. Miller and freshman
Dontre' Jenkins (New Madrid, Mo.) led the Owls with five rebounds each.
WWU will return to action on November 30 versus the College of the Ozarks. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm.
Woods Earns First Win
(CANTON, Mo., Nov. 19)--The William Woods University men's basketball team defeated Culver-Stockton College 70-54 Friday night in Canton, Mo. The Owls are competing in the Culver-Stockton Classic. WWU improves to 1-6 with the victory.
William Woods took a nine-point halftime lead (30-21) and never looked back. The Owls outscored the Wildcats 40-33 to earn its first win of the season.
WWU was led in scoring by senior
Dan Anderson (Jefferson City, Mo.) with 23 points. Junior
Caleb Parry (Rolla, Mo.) added 10 points and nine rebounds in the win.
The Owls shot 51.9% from the floor in the win. C-SC (0-3) shot 32.7% from the floor in the loss. WWU outrebounded the Wildcats 47-32.
William Woods will return to action on Saturday. The Owls will play Rogers State University at 1 pm to conclude the Culver-Stockton Classic.
