(FAYETTE, Mo., Nov. 6)-- The 16th-ranked William Woods University women's basketball team defeated Central Methodist University 61-45 Saturday afternoon. The Owls were competing in the CMU Classic in Fayette, Mo.

William Woods (3-0) was led in scoring by senior Jill Sutton (Warrenton, Mo.) with 17 points. Senior Jestine Gerber (Jefferson City, Mo.) added 13 points and six rebounds in the win. Junior Megan Aubuchon (Old Monroe, Mo.) added 10 points off the bench in the WWU victory.

WWU shot 43% from the field in the win. CMU (0-3) shot 35% from the floor in the loss. The Owls outrebounded the Eagles 38-28.

William Woods will return to action November 10. The Owls host Missouri Valley College at 7 pm in Anderson Arena.
