(FAYETTE, Mo., Sept. 10)--The William Woods University volleyball team took two matches at the Central Methodist University tri-match on Friday. The Owls defeated Westminster College (Mo.) 3-0, and Central Methodist University 3-0.
WWU defeated WC 26-24, 25-15 and 25-22. The Owls defeated CMU 25-13, 25-15 and 25-22.
Junior
Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Texas) led the Owls in kills in the 3-0 win over Westminster College. Fleming recorded 14 kills and added two blocks in the victory. Sophomore
Emily Nolte (Higginsville, Mo.) had 25 assists for the Owls. Sophomore
Amanda Henley (Jefferson City, Mo.) and senior
Brianna Rodriguez (Camdenton, Mo.) had 10, and 13, digs respectively.
Fleming and Rodriguez paced the Owls at the net in the second match of the day. Fleming had 11 kills, Rodriguez had 10 in the win over CMU. Nolte recorded 33 assists for the Owls. Henley had a team-high 24 digs.
The Owls improve to 4-3 on the season. They return to action on September 15 at AMC foe Harris-Stowe State University.
