(BELLEVUE, Neb., Sept. 25)--The William Woods University volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Bellevue University tournament on Saturday. The Owls defeated Bethel College (Kan.) 3-2. They lost to 18th-ranked Bellevue University 0-3.
The Owls needed five sets to earn the victory over Bethel College (Kan.) early Saturday morning. The Owls were victorious 25-17, 25-14, 22-25, 21-25 and 15-11. Freshman
Kali MacLean (Higginsville, Mo.) led the Owls with a team-high 15 kills. Junior
Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Texas) added 14 kills and three blocks in the win. Sophomore
Alicia Green (Midlothian, Texas), and freshman
Nicole Lolohea (Salt Lake City, Utah), added 13 and 10 kills each.

Sarah Wehmeyer (Carrollton, Texas) had a team-high 25 assists for the Owls. Sophomore
Emily Nolte (Higginsville, Mo.) added 24 assists in the win. Sophomore
Amanda Henley paced the Owls with 25 digs.
18th-ranked Bellevue University defeated the Owls 25-16, 25-21 and 25-22 in the final match of the tournament. Fleming had a team-high 10 kills and three blocks in the loss. Nolte added 10 assists for the Owls. Henley once again led WWU with 13 digs.
WWU (9-7) will return to action on September 28. They will travel to American Midwest Conference rival Missouri Baptist University. The Owls and Spartans will play at 7 pm in St. Louis, Mo.
