(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Jan. 27)--The William Woods University men's basketball team won at Missouri Baptist University on Thursday in St. Louis, Mo. The Owls defeated the Spartans 85-74 in an American Midwest Conference match-up.

Jonathon Nutt (Palmyra, Mo,.) led the Owls with 26 points. Andrew Miller (Whangamata, New Zealand) added 12 points in the win. Dan Anderson (Jefferson City, Mo.) and Vern Watkins (Virginia Beach, Va.) scored 11 and 10 points respectively.

WWU improves to 9-12 overall and 3-3 in the AMC. MBU falls to 7-13 overall and 1-5 in league play. Nine wins is a new WWU school record for wins in a season.

The Owls return to action on Saturday. WWU will host Columbia College at 4 pm in Anderson Arena in another AMC match-up.
