The William Woods University volleyball team dropped a pair of American Midwest Conference matches Monday afternoon. The Owls lost 3-0 and 3-1 to Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
WBC took the opener 25-16, 25-16 and 25-18.
Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Texas) and
Alicia Green (Midlothian, Texas) each had seven kills in the loss. Bailey Peterson (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the WWU offense with 24 assists.
Amanda Henley (Jefferson City, Mo.) had a team-high 24 digs.
The Eagles took the second match 25-13, 23-25, 25-17 and 29-27. Fleming again led the Owls with 14 digs. Green added 10 digs in the loss. Peterson recorded a match-high 40 assists. Henley tallied 19 digs in the loss.
WWU falls to 9-12 overall and 3-5 in the AMC. WBC improves to 19-4 on the year and 5-3 in league play.
The Owls return to action Wednesday against AMC rival Stephens College. First-serve is scheduled for 7 pm in Anderson Arena.
