Owls Win Five-Set Thriller Over Williams Baptist

Walnut Ridge, Ark. -- Brushing aside two setbacks during the regular season, the William Woods volleyball team knocked off Williams Baptist in a five-set duel on Tuesday night in the first round of the AMC Tournament. Alicia Green (Midlothian, Texas) powered the Owls offense, collecting 27 kills and posting a .478 hitting percentage on the night.

WWU opened the match with a 25-15 first set win, but the hosts responded in the second set with a 21-25 score. The third set was a pitched battle, but the Owls held on for a 30-28 win. WBC evened up the match with a 19-25 win in the fourth set, but Monica Renfrow's squad won the fifth set going away, posting a 15-9 win.

The Owls move to 15-20 on the season, and will face Columbia College on Thursday night in the AMC Tournament semifinals. First serve for the match is set for 7 p.m. in Columbia, Mo. The loss ends WBC's season with a record of 27-8
