(HANNIBAL, Mo., Feb. 10)--The William Woods University men's basketball team earned an American Midwest Conference road victory on Thursday. The Owls defeated Hannibal-LaGrange University 74-72.

H-LG falls to 6-16 on the season and 2-7 in the AMC. WWU improves to 10-15 on the year and 4-6 in league play.

Elliott Black (Virginia Beach, Va.) led the Owls with 18 points. Black was 6-for-8 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Logan Decker (Kansas City, Mo.) added 14 points in the WWU victory. Dan Anderson (Jefferson City, Mo.) chipped in 12 points for the Owls. Jonathon Nutt (Palmyra, Mo.) also reached double-figures for William Woods. Nutt scored 11 points and led the team with eight rebounds.

Hannibal-LaGrange shot 48.1% from the field in the loss. WWU shot 51% from the field in the win. The Owls outrebounded the Trojans 27-25.

William Woods returns to action on February 15. The Owls host AMC rival Williams Baptist College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm in Anderson Arena.
