(HANNIBAL, Mo., Feb. 10)--The 22nd-ranked William Woods University women's basketball team collected an American Midwest Conference road victory on Thursday. The Owls defeated Hannibal-LaGrange University 70-56 to improve to 23-2 on the season and 10-1 in the AMC.
Rachel Baker (Mexico, Mo.) led the Owls with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Baker was 9-for-20 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line.
Jestine Gerber (Jefferson City, Mo.) added 13 points in the WWU victory.
Miranda Loesch (Lohman, Mo.) reached double-figures in the win. Loesch scored 11 points and added eight rebounds.
H-LG (4-20, 2-8) shot 39.3% from the field in the loss. WWU shot 36.9% from the field in the win. The Owls outrebounded the Trojans 46-26.
WWU will return to action on February 15. The Owls host AMC rival Williams Baptist College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm in Anderson Arena.
