(FULTON, Mo., Feb. 19)--The 22nd-ranked William Woods University women's basketball had little trouble with American Midwest Conference rival Stephens College Saturday. The Owls defeated the Stars 70-37 in Anderson Arena.

Sharron Andrews (Oakland/Hayward, Calif.) led the Owls with 11 points. Andrews was 4-for-5 from the field including 1-for-1 from beyond the three-point line. She was also 2-for-2 from the foul line. Andrews was the only player for WWU to reach double-figures. Every player on the Owl roster scored in the win.

Katie Scherder (Bowling Green, Mo.) led the Owls with six rebounds. Scherder also added six points in the win.

SC (3-22, 0-13) shot 29.5% from the field in the loss. WWU (26-2, 13-1) shot 38.9% from the field in the win. The Owls outrebounded the Stars 42-25.

WWU will return to action on February 24. They host AMC rival Missouri Baptist University in Anderson Arena. Tip-off is at 5:30 pm. February 24 is also Senior Day at William Woods.
