Men Fall Late at CMU

The William Woods University men's soccer team dropped a road match at Central Methodist University.  The Eagles defeated the Owls 2-1 in Fayette, Mo.
 
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half of play.  CMU (4-1) got on the board in the 46th minute.  Daniel Vieira scored off a corner kick to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.
 
J.P. Parra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) tied the match for William Woods in the 51st minute.  Parra now has 14 goals on the season.
 
Starring down a potential overtime period, CMU struck for the game-winning goal with just under three minutes remaining in the match.  Rafael Sabadini scored off a corner kick to give the Eagles the win.
 
William Woods (5-2) dominated the match on the offensive end.  The Owls took 31 shots on the evening.  CMU managed 10 shots in the night.  The Owls put nine shots on goal.  CMU scored on both scoring attempts.
 
The Owls return to action September 18.  WWU travels to Ottawa, Kan., to take on Ottawa University.  Kick-off is scheduled for 2 pm.
