The William Woods University men's soccer team dropped a road match tonight at nationally ranked Missouri Valley College.  The eighth-ranked Vikings defeated the Owls 3-1.
 
Neither team could find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes of play.  Luca Stroeter (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored the first goal of the match in the 56th minute.  Stroeter scored his fifth goal of the season off an assist from Marcelo Carreiro (Curtiba, Brazil).  It was the seventh assist on the season for Carreiro.
 
Missouri Valley tied the match in the 65th minute on a goal from Roderick Owusu-Andrews.  The Vikings added the game-winning goal in the 68th minute off the foot of Pedro Franco.  They added another goal in the 70th minute on a goal from Miguel Jimenez.
 
Missouri Valley (6-0) took 13 shots on the night.  The Vikings placed seven shots on goal.  William Woods (5-4) took nine shots on the evening.  They placed five shots on goal.
 
Igor Dos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had three saves for William Woods.
 
The Owls return to action September 26.  Woods will travel to Central Christian College for a 3 pm kick-off.
