The William Woods University men's soccer team had little trouble with Central Christian College today. The Owls defeated the Saints 7-0 in Moberly, Mo. William Woods improves to 6-4 on the season. CCC falls to 1-6-1 on the year.
The Owls scored all seven of its goals in the first half. J.P. Parra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had two goals and an assist in the victory. Woods also received goals from
Marcelo Carreiro (Curtiba, Brazil),
Ruben Ramirez (Homestead, Fla.),
Luca Stroeter (Sao Paulo, Brazil),
Christyan Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and
Ryan Mann (Florissant, Mo.).
Recording assists in the victory were
Luis Percovich (Lima, Peru),
Gentry Coffman (Columbia, Mo.),
Dominic Bisesi (St. Charles, Mo.) and Carreiro. Bisesi had two assists in the win.
The Owls outshot the Saints 51-0. Woods placed 23 shots on goal.
Jeremy Herrman (Raytown, Mo.) collected the shutout win in goal for the Owls.
WWU returns to action October 4. The Owls host American Midwest Conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange University at 7 pm on Firley Field.
