The William Woods University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the MidAmerica Nazarene University Tournament Saturday afternoon. The Owls lost both matches in five.

 

WWU (2-6) dropped its opening match to Ottawa University. OU defeated the Owls 15-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-22 and 15-11. Lauren Fleming (Granbury, Texas) led the Owls with a team-high 12 kills. Fleming added 3 blocks in the loss.

 

Sarah Wehmeyer (Carrollton, Texas) tallied a team-high 37 assists. She added eight digs for the Owls. Abbie O'Mara (Saint Peters, Mo.) and Baily Peterson (Cedarburg, Wis.) had 11, and 10, digs respectively.

 

William Woods dropped its final match in the tournament to MidAmerica Nazarene. MNU defeated the Owls 23-25, 25-16, 14-25, 25-15 and 15-11. A complete box score from the final match is currently unavailable.

 

The Owls return to action on September 7. WWU will open American Midwest Conference play at Stephens College. First-serve is scheduled for 7 pm in Columbia, Mo.
