FULTON, Mo.—The William Woods men's basketball team will play its fourth game in less than a week and look to exact revenge on the road against Graceland University. Tip-off is set at 7:00 p.m.

The Owls (1-5), are coming off an 0-2 showing at the Hampton Inn Classic, falling to hot shooting Bellevue University 106-72 on Friday night and a tough 108-99 overtime loss on Saturday against York College.

The team held a lead against York College for the majority of the game, but the Panthers were a feisty team that always found a way to cut any Owls advantage. The Panthers held an 91-88 advantage over WWU with just over 1:00 minute remaining, but Seth Thomas nailed his lone three pointer of the game and tied the score up at 91-91, forcing overtime.

In OT, York controlled the extra time, outscoring the Owls 17-8 and went on for the nine point victory. The Owls had five players reach double-figures, led by senior Jonathon Nutt scoring 21 on 6-for-18 shooting from the floor.

Offensively, the Owls are led by Nutt averaging 18.3 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the floor. Blake Burgess is also off to a strong start to the season, as the Jacksonville, Ill., native is putting up 15.3 points per game, shooting 77 percent from the free throw line and leads the Owls in rebounds with 34.

Nate Bitner has played well as of late for WWU averaging 9.3 points per game and the Kearney, Mo., native will look to build off his 14 point outburst he put up against York College.

This will be the second meeting between William Woods and Graceland University (6-2), as in their previous meeting the Yellow Jackets shocked the Owls in its home opener on a buzzer beating basket made by Austin Danner, giving GU an 88-86 win.

The Yellow Jackets were riding a six game winning streak, until most recently the team suffered an 88-66 loss at the hands of Division II No. 3 ranked Embry-Riddle.

Graceland is putting up 90 points per game on the season, placing them 18th overall in the NAIA. The team is led by Jamal Lawson averaging 16.3 points per game and is shooting an astounding 56 percent from the field. Danner, who netted 23 points at Anderson Arena, will be a player the Owls need to keep an eye on, as he is second on the team averaging 15 points per contest.

This game will be a battle of the boards, as the Owls currently rank 29th in the NAIA in total rebounds per game (41), while the Yellow Jackets average 43 per game, placing them 20th in the NAIA.
