Volleyball Collects Its Seventh AMC Win Against Hannibal-LaGrange On Tuesday

HANNIBAL, Mo. – The William Woods University volleyball team got back to its winning ways, as the team cruised past Hannibal-LaGrange University in three sets (25-18, 25-13, 25-16), on Tuesday night.
 
The Owls (21-15; 7-4 AMC) totaled 38 kills on the night, and were led by junior Emily Becker, having 10 kills and an attack percentage of .240. Stephanie Davis, had a match-high six blocks, as she collected seven kills with an attack percentage of .357 for the team, while Abbi McKnelly tallied six kills in the match.
 
Kristen Bauer, Abby Ferguson and Brittney Engelbrecht also contributed to the action, as they each added five kills apiece for WWU. 
 
Along with posting five kills on the night, Engelbrecht, the freshman setter, totaled 29 assists, while senior libero, Abbie O'Mara led the Owls with 14 digs.
 
Hannibal-LaGrange was led by Devin Boeckstiegal, who recorded eight kills with an attack percentage of .316, while Carli Penrod and Khristina Schellentrager both added seven kills on the night.
 
Lady Trojans setter, Emily Pfeiffer totaled 21 assists in the match, while Schellentrager led HLG defensively, with 14 digs.
 
Tomorrow night the Owls travel to Benedictine University at Springfield for its last AMC regular season match-up and look to go into the post-season on a two game winning streak.
 
In last year's meeting, William Woods defeated the Bulldogs in three straight sets (25-11, 25-16, 25-11), as Becker led the way, having 11 kills with an attack percentage of .533.
 
Currently, BU-Springfield is tied for last place in AMC standings, as they are still looking for its first conference victory and will enter tomorrow night's match-up with an overall record of 2-21.
 
On the season, the Bulldogs are led offensively by Bryanna Stevens, as she has totaled 163 kills, while outside hitter, Makenzie Hartman has tallied 152 kills on the year.
 
Setter, Jaiden Fagrie has totaled a team-high 394 assists and on the other side of the net, Baylee O'Donnell leads the Bulldogs defensively with 277 digs.
