Johnson Leads William Woods Past Pharmacy

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - A career game by DJ Johnson led William Woods past Saint Louis College of Pharmacy, 88-51, in American Midwest Conference men's basketball action.  

Johnson scored a career-high 30 points on 12-of-14 shooting leading the Owls to victory. WWU shot a season-high 65-percent from the floor for the contest. Bryan DeGeare helped the Oaks with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Game Flow
William Woods and Pharmacy were in a highly contested first half, as the Eutectics' Kyle Jones hit a 3-pointer cutting the Owls lead midway through the first half to 22-21. However, the Owls turned the tide, closing the half on a 27-6 run to lead 49-27, with Johnson and DeGeare combining for 31 points. As a team, the Owls combined to shoot 63 percent in the period and forced SLCP into 16 first half turnovers - turning into 17 WWU points.

The Owls hot shooting continued in the second half as they shot 68-percent from the floor and outscored Pharmacy, 39-24. A jumper by TaiRhe Turner extended WWU's lead to 71-43 with 10 minutes to go in the contest, cruising to the win.
