MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – On the final day of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, the William Woods University pitching staff only allowed four hits for the day and the Owls came away with two victories. WWU opened the day with a 10-0 victory over Ohio Christian University before finishing the tournament with a 8-0 victory over Roosevelt University.

The Owls return to action on Tuesday, March 14th when they open up American Midwest Conference action when they host Stephens College. First-pitch is set for 2 p.m.

The Owls head out in the first inning scoring two off the bat.
Hannah Campbell hit a leadoff single and then put herself in scoring position by stealing second.
Dacrie Depping singled and Campbell advanced to third base, putting runners on second and third.
Brailee Schulte steped up and hit a double and that scored both Campbell and Depping, putting the Owls ahead 2-0.

The Owls score again in the second and third, giving the Owls a 5-0 cushion. The Owls would then come out in the fifth starting out with a timely mishap to put
Beth Begemann on first. Jessica Bradficsh would then reach on a walk to put runners on first and second.
Hillary Hentges reached on an error, loading the bases with Owls.

Alexi Cavins hits a sacrifice fly, scoring Van Tress and McCormick Owls up 10-0.

Ohio Christian would not be able to string hits together to score, so that would end the game in five innings.
Sierra Jacques ran into trouble ones as she loaded the bases in the bottom of the second put retired the next three hitters of the inning. Jacques only allowed Ohio Christian to collect two hits in the contest.

The Owls were challenged in the first three innings against the Lakers both teams going scoreless. It was not until the fourth inning that the Owls offense was able to manufacture a run after Begemann reached on a hit by pitch, and
Amanda Bouchey singled down the right field line, Begemann advancing to third, putting runners in scoring position.
Olivia Imhoff reached on a fielder's choice, which scored Begemann.

The Owls defense would not let the Lakers spark anything, Owls up in the top of the fifth.
Dacrie Depping started the Owl offense after a single to left center. Schulte hit a single up the middle, advancing Depping to second. Begemann ripped a double to right field and scoring Depping. Ali Massey added a double of her own, scoring Bouchey and Begemann putting the Owls ahead, 5-0. The Owls would score three more before earning the mercy rule, 8-0.

Allison Waskow shut down the Lakers as she only allowed Roosevelt to two hits for the contest. During the time, Waskow only walked one and struck out four in the contest to earn the victory for the Owls.
