FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University volleyball team captured their 10
th home win of the season Friday night as they defeated Harris-Stowe 3-0. Â WWU had a .381 hitting percentage in the victory.

Kate Doerhoff,
Rayleen Rivera and
Tory Wiley led the Owls with six kills each.
Remie Johnson led the way with 16 assists and Rivera led WWU with eight digs on the night.

Tory Wiley was honored before the third set for capturing her 1000
th career kill on October 25
th against College of the Ozarks.

The Owls return to action October 29
th when they travel to Baldwin City (Kan.) to face Baker University. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Game Flow
William Woods got out to a quick 10-3 lead over the Hornets. The Owls were able to push the lead to 11-4 when Johnson found Wiley for a kill.

Harris-Stowe attempted attacks but could not connect on any.
Jaclyn Zahn would spark a WWU run with a kill of her own with the assist coming from Johnson.

The Hornets would get on the board once again with a kill coming from Niya Jenkins, but it would not be enough as William Woods went on to win the set 25-7.

After winning the first set, William Woods was determined to take the second set as they were able to get out to a 5-0 start. The Hornets went on to score four straight points and give the Owls a 5-4 lead.

WWU would go on another run when Johnson found Wiley for a kill that sparked a 7-1 run. Ahead 14-4 the Owls continued their attack. Johnson and Wiley connected again for a kill and gave William Woods a 15-5 advantage.

With the Owls now ahead 20-7, Whitney McDaniel and Kayla Snipes blocked a WWU attack and put Harris-Stowe behind 20-8. The Hornets would score three more times before losing the set to William Woods 25-11.

Up two sets, the William Woods could smell the victory. Â With a 12-9 lead, Rivera connected for a kill and gave WWU a 13-9 lead over the Hornets. Immediately following Rivera's kill,
Kate Doerhoff connected for a kill of her own and pushed the Owls lead to 14-9.

Harris-Stowe continued to fight but would not get over the hump and would fall to the Owls 25-13.
