FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team played their final match of the 2018 season Tuesday night as they fell 2-1 to Missouri Baptist. WWU men's soccer finished 13-4-3 overall and 9-1-1 in the AMC.

Game Flow
William Woods were the first to attack in the opening minutes. With 4-minutes of the game clock,
Billy Nzojyibwami attempted a shot on goal but it was saved by Spartans goal keeper Davide Bucarelli. 1-minute later, Nzojyibwami attempted another shot on goal that was again saved by Burcarelli.

After two quick shots from WWU, Stefen Simic attempted a shot on goal but it would be denied by Burcarelli. Immediately following his first attempt, Simic attempted another shot on goal but Bucarelli was there for the save.

With score still tied 0-0,
Ethan Roth attempted back-to-back shot attempts but both were saved by Bucarelli.

Finally, after 30-minutes of game play, Brandon Boos attempted a shot for Missouri Baptist but
Wessel Albers was there for the deflection.

In the final minute of the first half, Albers broke free and scored a goal for the Owls and put them ahead 1-0 going into the half.

Ahead 1-0 the William Woods continued their attack with a shot attempt coming
Roberto Duro Sanchez that missed high of the goal.

10-minutes into the second half, Albers attempted another shot, but this time is would be blocked by Jordan Lovell.

With WWU ahead 1-0 midway through the second half. Missouri Baptist needed to get on the board. They did just that when Nick Johnson found Easton Jaromin for a Spartans goal and tied the game 1-1.

William Woods quickly looked to responded when
Jon Buerge attempted a shot on goal that was saved by Bucarelli.

With 18:56 remaining in regulation, Victor Rada scored the second goal for the Spartans and put Missouri Baptist ahead 2-0.

WWU had multiple opportunities to tie the match but could not connect and Missouri Baptist went on to win 2-1.
