FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team used a dominating third quarter run to top Missouri Valley College Wednesday evening. The 70-58 final score gives the Owls their third straight win of the season.
The Owls outscored MVC 22-10 in the third quarter while shooting 50% from the field in the second and third quarters.
The Owls travel to Hillsboro, Kansas for Tabor Classic starting November 9. They first play Bethany (Kan.) on Friday, November 9, at 2 p.m.

Game Flow
MVC stayed one step ahead of the Owls in the first quarter. The Owls tied up the game six times in the quarter but were never able to pull the lead.
Peyton Greenlee knocked in one under the basket with :08 on the clock to tie the game at 14-14 heading into the second quarter.
Jazlyn Drake hit a three to start the second quarter and give the Owls their first lead of the game, 17-14.
The game was knotted up three more times with the lead bouncing back-and-forth between the two teams until Greenlee hit a three with 4:12 to play in the half to give the Owls a 25-24 advantage.
The Owls pushed the lead to five but MVC hit a three and two free throws to tie the game up for the 10
th time with 17 seconds on the clock. Frampton hit a bucket in the paint with 3 seconds on the clock to send the Owls into halftime with a 35-33 lead.
MVC took a five-point lead two minutes into the second half, but the Owls pushed a 14-0 run over the next five minutes to take a nine-point lead, 49-40. MVC broke the run with a three, but Gerald answered with a three of her own. The Owls scored five more to complete the quarter with an 8-point run, ending with a three from
Kasey Hazell.
MVC looked to make a run at the start of the fourth quarter, hitting back-to-back threes to cut the game to eight points, 57-49.
Free throws from Greenlee pushed the Owl's lead back to double digits, but MVC came back with two free throws of their own to bring it back to eight points.
A 7-0 run with points from Gerald, Greenlee and Frampton gave the Owls a 15-point lead with 6:28 to play. MVC brought the game back down to 10 with 2:00 on the clock, but the Owls stalled and Hazell put in the Owls final bucket of the game to win it 70-58.
