SAUGET, Ill. – The William Woods University baseball team closed out the three-game set with Lindenwood University-Belleville with an 11-1 in the third game of the series. The Owls and Lynx Series was the AMC Game of the Week.

Tyler Cunningham led the Owls as he collected three hits and drove in six runs in the contest.
Dany Paradis-Giroux had another solid outing as he went seven innings and only allowed one run in the game.

WWU returns to action on Tuesday, February 27th when they travel to Ottawa, Kansas to face Ottawa University in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls and Lynx finished up their three-game series with the Lynx scoring first in the bottom of the second inning. The Lynx took advantage of an Owls error to score its run.

The Owls answered back in the top of the third when the Owls offense took off on a rampage.
Patrick Dillon started the order when he reached on an error and
Brian Granton followed with a single and
Marquise Doherty reached on a walk.
Tyler Cunningham came up to the plate with bases loaded and hit a grand slam, putting the Owls ahead, 4-1.

Nolan Aherin started the Owls off again with a walk and back to back singles by
Tyler Bracht and
Frankie Valle, scored Aherin and Bracht extending the Owls lead to 6-1.

The next three innings the Lynx and Owls fought to score but were unsuccessful until the top of the seventh inning. Dillon reached on a walk and Granton bunted for a base hit and put the Owls in scoring position. Doherty came to the plate and really sparked the offense with a double scoring Dillon growing the Owls lead to 7-1.
Tyler Cunningham followed with a single that scored
Brian Granton putting the Owls ahead, 8-1. Following the single, Cunningham and Doherty pulled a double steal that scored Doherty putting the Owls ahead, 9-1.
Nolan Aherin added a double and Cunningham came across the plate to score, giving the Owls a hefty 10-1 lead.Â

The top of the order led off in the top of the eighth
Glen DesBouillons singled to center.
Jordan Smith ran for DesBouillons and he came into score on a Cunningham single, which put the Owls ahead, 11-1.

In the bottom of the eighth inning,
Mitchel Brown came out of the bullpen and recorded sat the Lynx down in order and the Owls came away with a 11-1 victory and a three game sweep of the Lynx.
