ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to face the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University in the AMC Conference Tournament on Wednesday, February 28. Tip-off set for 7 p.m.
 
AMC Tournament
- Wednesday, February 28^th kicks-off the 2018 AMC Conference Tournament
- The Men's tournament will play on Quarterfinals on Feb. 28, Semifinals on March 2 and the Championship March 5

About the Owls
- WWU enters the AMC Tournament with a 14-16 overall record and are 11-11 in the AMC. The Owls are the No. 6 seed in the Conference tournament
-The Owls are on a two game winning streak after they recently defeating Hannibal- LaGrange, 64-55 in overtime on Saturday
- William Woods is 26th in the NAIA in free throw percentage with a 71.6 percent
- WWU is 33rd in the NAIA in rebounds per game averaging 38.6 rebounds per game. DaShaun Stark and Darrien Dickey have a combined 449 rebounds in the season
- Darrien Dickey ranks 19th in the nation in field goal percentage shooting 56.7 percent from the floor. Dickey is also 21st in the NAIA in rebounds with 225 this season
- Stark also leads the Owls in points per game averaging 16.67 points and is shooting at a 46.5 percent from the floor
- Brandon Vice leads the Owls in blocks with a total of 15 blocks in the season and is averaging .58 blocks per game
- Previously, the Owls lost to the Hornets once in December 84-74 and once again on February 8, 60-51
- On the season, WWU is averaging 70.6 points per game and are shooting 43.5 percent from the floor. WWU is shooting 29.3 percent on threes this season
- Opponents are averaging 71.3 points per game and are shooting 42.9 percent against the Owls
 
About the Hornets
- The Hornets are 20-10 overall and have an AMC record of 16-6 and are on a three game winning streak
- The Hornets are the No. 3 seed in the AMC Conference Tournament
- The Hornets are fourth in the nation in blocks raking in 142 blocks and are 5th in the NAIA in blocks per game, averaging 4.73
-Altez Davis leads the Hornets in blocks with 45 this season, which is 11th best in the NAIA and is averaging 1.5 blocks per game
-HSSU is also 13th in the nation in three-point field goals made with 278 in the season. Deandre Clark ranks 28th in three-point field goals made with a total of 74
-As a team, the Hornets collected 424 assists with Clark leading the team averaging 2.72 assists per game and 79 assists in the season
- Three individuals are averaging double figure points in the season. Denzel Smith leads averaging 13.8 points per game, Deandre Clark is averaging 12.3 points per game, and is followed by Dwane Miner who is averaging 11.3 points per game
- The Hornets are averaging 76.2 points per game and are shooting 41.5 percent from the floor.
- Opponents are scoring 71.4 points per game and are shooting 42.6 percent on the season against the Hornets
