FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's tennis team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, defeated AMC opponent Freed-Hardeman University, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls took all three doubles points on the day as Marcos Vinicius Prates Constantino and Jack Campbell won No. 3 doubles 8-0. WWU followed taking No. 1 doubles as Stefan Simic and Christian Barbieri won 8-1. They closed out doubles with a 8-2 win with Benjamin Tzschentke and Juan Esteban Duran.
 
In singles action, the Owls won No. 3 singles with Juan Esteban Duran, No. 4 Oscar Donker and No. 5 Elias Fernandez, in straight sets. WWU's Christopher Vleeming Ortiz won 6-2, 6-1, in No. 1 singles.
 
In No. 2 singles, Jesus Amezcua won 6-2, 6-1 giving the Owls its eighth point. Harrison Laurent came away with a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 6 singles giving the Owls a 9-0 victory.
 
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, March 27 when they host Maryville University in non-conference action. Match is set to start at 2 p.m.
