FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's tennis team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, won its seventh match of the season and its fifth in a row with a 9-0 victory over Freed-Hardeman University in AMC action.

WWU jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in doubles action as they won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and took No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Zlata Shuraeva and
Ana Zavala won 8-0 and
Abigail Lemberger and
Julia Mulder followed winning 8-0 in No. 2 doubles.
WWU increased its lead to 4-0 with a forfeit win in No. 6 singles. WWU's
Paige Smith took No. 5 singles, in straight sets moving the Owls to a 5-0 lead. The Owls kept wining as Abigail Lember won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 4 singles.
Bente Petersen won 6-4, 6-1, in No. 3 singles moving the Owls lead to 7-0. William Woods won the last two matches as
Julia Mulder won 6-1, 6-2 in No. 2 singles and
Julia Perez Wienese won 6-4, 6-0, in No. 1 singles.
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, March 27 when they host Maryville University in non-conference action. Match is set to start at 2 p.m.
