COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University softball season came to an end on Tuesday in the AMC Tournament as they dropped both of its contests. The Owls were walked off against in both games against Central Baptist College and Park University.

With the losses the Owls finish the season with a record of 24-22 on the season.

Game One (WWU vs. CBC)
Game Flow
After a scoreless first inning, the Owls looked to threaten to score in the top of the second inning.
Alli Massey reached on a Mustangs throwing error and she advanced to second on a sac bunt.
Amanda Bouchey followed with single putting runners on the corners. However, the next two batters were retired, and the inning was over.

The game remained scoreless and the Owls threatened again in the top of the fourth inning.
Emily Robinett singled and moved to second on a sac bunt. After a round out, Bouchey singled moving Robinett and Bouchey went to second on the throw. The next Owls batter were retired, and the threat was ended.

The Mustangs broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning. Allison Seats reached on a walk and went to second on a ground out. After a fly out for the second out of the inning, Hunter Clark singled scoring Seats putting the Mustangs ahead, 1-0.

Central Baptist added to its lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. The first two batters reached on a single before a ground out that advanced the runners up a base. Kaitlyn Goike hit a sacrifice fly scoring another and the Mustangs led 2-0.

The game remained 2-0 until the top of the seventh inning. WWU came up with its final outs and the first two hitters were retired.
Celeste Sermeno reached on a walk to get the Owls started.
Lindy Wilson followed and had a 1-1 count. On the next pitch, Wilson hit a two-run home run to left field tying the game at 2-2.

In the bottom of the seventh,
Allison Waskow got the first ound of the inning and Brianna Nunn doubled. Nunn went to third on a ground out. With two outs and a runner on third, Goike singled to left field scoring Nunn and giving the Mustangs a 3-2 victory.

Game Flow
The Owls jumped out to a quick lead in the contest.
Emma Walker singled to left and went to third on
Emily Robinett's single. She scored on a suicide squeeze putting the Owls ahead 1-0.

The Pirates answered back in the bottom of the inning. With a runner on second, Katie Carr singled to left scoring one. Carr came into score on a double by Olivia Atkinson. After one inning of play the Pirates led 2-1.

Park grew its lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the second inning. With runners on first and second, Kaylin Brooks singled loading the base. On the next play Klein flew out to left and the runner from second tagged up but the runner on third did not and the Owls tried to get the out and the Pirates runner from third came to score on the throw. After two innings the Owls trailed 3-1.

The Owls struck back in the top of the fourth inning.
Bri Devellano reached on a walk to get the Owls started with one out.

Ari Arnold singled loading the bases.
Emma Walker came up to the plate and hit a grand slam putting the Owls head 5-3.

William Woods extended the lead in the top of the fifth inning. With one out and a full count,
Lindsay Van Tress hit a solo home run to left field putting the Owls ahead 6-3.

Park answered back in the bottom of the fifth inning when Hailey Costello hit a solo home run cutting the Owls lead down to 6-4.

WWU grew the lead to 7-4 in the top of the sixth inning. With a runner on second, Robinett singled putting runners on the corners.
Alli Massey hit into a fielder's choice that score one growing the Owls lead to three.

Again, the Pirates answered back taking the Owls lead down to two, as Klein hit a double that scored one for the Pirates.

The Owls went down in order in the top of the seventh but needed only three outs to advance in the tournament. However, the Pirates bats came to life as they scored three runs and defeating the Owls 8-7.
