Men's Soccer Takes on Pharmacy on Saturday

FULTON, Mo. -
The William Woods University men's soccer team return to action Saturday, Sept.22nd as they host St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Firley Field.
 
About the Eutectics
St. Louis Pharmacy enters he contest 2-2-1 and 0-2 in the AMC. The Eutectics have two shutouts on the season defeating Blackburn College 4-0 on Sept.11th and Concordia Seminary-St. Louis 1-0. Their last time out, they fell to Lyon College 8-0 on Sept. 18th.
 
Pharmacy currently ranks 36th in the nation overall for goals allowed per game (2.5).
 
Luke Dobbelare Ranks seventh in the nation overall in goals against with .5 and Adam Amroun ranks 21st in game winning goals with .33 on the season. Amroun leads the way for the Eutectics with two goals on the season. Dilon Birdsong, John David and Max Lindner follow with one each.
 
Last time Against St. Louis Pharmacy
The last time WWU faced Pharmacy was on Oct. 7th when the Owls shutout the Eutectics 6-0 in St. Louis. Rodrigo Alves led the game with three goals, while Darren Wilson, Matheus Schmid and Logan Christopher each recorded one goal in the match.
 
All-Time vs. the Eutectics
WWU and Pharmacy matched up for the first time on September 22nd, 2015 when the Owls walked away with a 5-0 shutout victory. On October 29th, 2016, the Owls scored an all-time high 15 goals in a shutout against the Eutectics. Since their first meeting, William Woods had shutout Pharmacy in every match and hold a 3-0 series lead.

WWU is currently have won its last three games and were receiving votes in the last NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches Poll. Their last time out they defeated Freed-Hardeman 3-2 in double overtime on Sept.15th in Batesville, Ark. The Owls are now 6-2-2 overall and 3-0 in AMC play which puts them in first place.
 
William Woods currently ranks 3rd overall in the nation for total shutouts with 5 on the season. WWU also ranks 18th overall in shutouts per game (.5). Darren Wilson is currently ranked 1st overall in game winning goals with four, while Billy Nzojyibwami ranks 13th for total game winning goals with two on the season.
 
Goal Score's this Season
The Owls have had six players score goals this season. Wilson leads the way with five goals, while Nzojyibwami follows right behind with four of his own. David Marshall has three goals on the season. Jon Buerge, Spencer Hiles and Jordan Henderson end Owl goal scorers with one goal each for the season.
 
Shots by Period
WWU holds the advantage for shots in the first half as they have attempted 60 shots while holding their opponents to only 38. The shots per period increase in the second half as the Owls have outshot opponents by 39 shots in the second half.
 
Shutouts
On the season, WWU has recorded five shutouts. As a team, the five shutouts is the third most in the NAIA. Freshman Ben Faherty has recorded all the shutouts for the Owls. His five shutouts is the fourth most in a single season for the Owls.
 
What's Next
Following Saturday's contest, the Owls return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25th when they travel to Hannibal, Mo. to face Hannibal-LaGrange University. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
