CONWAY, Ark. – A goal with just under five minutes left in Tuesday's game lifted the William Woods University men's soccer team over Central Baptist College, 2-1. The win brings the Owls to 2-5 in conference play, 4-10 overall.
After a silent first half, CBC took a 1-0 advantage in the 58
th minute.
Minutes later,
Roberto Duro Sanchez evened the score with the assist from
Darren Wilson.
The game remained even until
Billy Nzojyibwami headed the ball into the back of the net in the 86
th minute with the help of Wilson.
The Owls fired off one more shot, but CBC made the stop. In the final minute of the game, CBC looked to even the score, but keeper
Iker Gonzalez made his 11
th and final stop of the game to win it 2-1.
The Owls return home for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff against Hannibal-LaGrange on Wed., Oct. 23.
