COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team fell to Olivet Nazarene Saturday afternoon on day two of the Columbia College Classic. The Owls drop to 1-2 on the season.
The Owls return home for their second home game of the season on Friday, Nov. 9. They host No. 4 William Penn at 4 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls won the tip of scored on their first possession with a down low bucket from
Kobi Barnes. ONU scored the next five, but Nelson hit a long jumper to bring the Owls within one, 5-4.
Back-to-back buckets from
Codi Whitlock and
Treshawn Gause brought the Owls within three following a 6-0 ONU run, but ONU pushed their lead back to seven, 15-8. ONU went on a 12-0 run to take a 27-10 lead.
Nett scored on back-to-back possessions to cut the game to 13, 27-14 with nine minutes to play. ONU continued the game with short runs to take a 32-point lead heading into halftime, 56-24.
After ONU took a 49-point lead midway through the second half, the Owls closed the gap to 37 with 4:52 to play. They continued to battled and with 1:03 on the clock,
Noah Wurtz scored on a fast break following his steal to bring the Owls within 31, 94-63. Two free throws from Wurtz ended the game, 100-67.
