Owls Win Second Straight

Box Score NEVADA, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team won their second game of the season on Wednesday with a 57-42 victory over Cottey College. The Owls improve to 2-0 on the season.
 
The Owls will host Graceland University (Iowa) in their home-opener on Saturday, Nov. 9. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
 
By The Numbers
14 – Kasey Hazell went 5-for-6 from the floor to score a floor-high 14 points in the win.
13 – Peyton Greenlee went 6-for-15 from the field to tally 13 points. 
11 – Kaycee Gerald pulled down a floor-high 11 boards. Seven came from the defensive end.
4 ­– Gerald finished with a team-high four assists.
 
Game Flow
 
The Owls powered an 18-8 lead after 10 minutes of play. The Owls scored just four in the second quarter, sending the game into halftime with a low score of 22-16.
 
The Owls came into the second half and put up 23 points while holding Cottey to just 12. Just into the final quarter, the Owls held their largest lead of the game at 23 points. The Owls closed out the game with a 12-point fourth quarter. Neither team scored in the final minutes, ending the game with a 57-42 win.
