FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball hosts Central Baptist in the first round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament Thursday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Anderson Arena.

2018 American Midwest Conference Tournament/ NAIA National Championship
Last season the Mustangs fell 87-73 to RV Harris-Stowe, but because they were named 2018 AMC regular season champs, they received an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship. In the first round of nationals, CBC fell 79-74 to No. 9 Georgetown College.
About William Woods
The Owls ended their 2018-19 campaign 18-11 overall and 15-7 in the AMC. Over the course of 29 games, they've averaged 75.3ppg for a total of 2,184 points. As a team they shot 42% from the field, 33% from three-point line and 74% from the foul line. WWU currently holds three Top 25 National rankings. They rank 12

Treshawn Gause has stepped up big for William Woods this season. David Johnson Jr. has also played well this season. His 15.8ppg puts him first on the team and scoring. Over the course of 28 games he has accumulated 442 total points, 173 rebounds and 43 blocks which puts him first in program history for single season blocks. He is currently ranked 15
th overall in the nation in total blocks (43) and 16
th overall in blocks per game (1.5). Johnson has also been named AMC Player of the Week.
