FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Women's Volleyball team return to action Tuesday Sept. 17
th as they open American Midwest Conference action against No.1 Missouri Baptist. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
About Missouri Baptist
After starting off the season 0-3, the Spartans turned things around by going on a 12-game winning streak which puts them at 12-3 overall. During that 12-game win streak, they defeated No.9 Lindsey Wilson University, No.5 Viterbo, No.8 Midland University and No.3 Grand View University.
Their last time out, they defeated Lincoln College (Ill.) 3-0.
Missouri Baptist currently holds four national rankings. They rank 20
th overall in total service aces (101). 29
th overall in hitting percentage (.22), 38
th overall in total assists (585) and 38
th overall in total kills (640).
The Spartans also have two players with national rankings. Morgan Berry ranks 24
th overall in total assists (474) and 27
th overall in assists per game (10). Ariana Macies ranks 34

Giovanna Tapigliana is also playing well for MBU. Her 127 total kills put her in first place on the team. Macies also leads the Spartans with 242 total digs.
About William Woods
The Owls enter the contest coming of a 3-1 finish in the College of the Ozarks Tournament where they defeated Tabor College (Kan.), Oklahoma Wesleyan and Southwestern Christian. Their only loss was to host College of the Ozarks.
Prior to the C of O tournament, WWU defeated Culver-Stockton College 3-0.
As a team, William Woods currently hold five national rankings. They rank 7

History Between William Woods and Missouri Baptist
The first matchup between the Owls and Spartans took place on January 14, 1983 when WWU defeated MBU 3-0. Since then they two have 43 other times in which the Spartans hold a 26-18 advantage.
The Owls will look to break an 11 game losing streak Tuesday night.
