BOONEVILLE, Mo. – The William Woods women's soccer team shutout Stephens College on Saturday afternoon, 4-0. The Owls are now 3-7 on the season and 2-2 in the AMC.

Game Flow
The Owls got things started with two back-to-back shot attempts by
Samantha Donaldson and
Tayler LePage. Donaldson's shot went high while LePage's was saved by Stars goalkeeper, Kaylee Swinford.
The Owls had plenty of opportunities to score, but none of them connected. William Woods had 16 shot attempts in the first 21 minutes of play.
The Stars attempted their first goal with 21 minutes on the clock, but was saved by Owls goalkeeper,
Michyla Handley.
The Owls were finally able to connect 37 minutes into the game, with a goal by Collen Bayer. This gave William Woods a 1-0 lead.
Just before the end of the first half,
Alexis Willingham took advantage as Swinford bobbled the ball. This put the Owls up 2-0 going into halftime.
The Owls had 29 shot attempts in the first half, while the Stars had two.
To start off the second half, Handley made her second save of the game.
With 55 minutes on the clock, Kenzie Gourley was able to connect from 30 yards out, which gave the Owls a 3-0 advantage.

Arianna Meikel was subbed in for Handley at the 58 minute mark.
Less than 10 minutes later, Bayer made her second goal of the game; the Owls final goal of the match, 4-0.
Meikel made a save with 78 minutes on the clock.
The Owls had many other opportunities to extend their lead, but would secure a 4-0 shutout.
