McKENZIE, Tenn. – The William Woods University softball team grabbed two wins on Saturday at Bethel University (Tenn.). The Owls opened the day with a 9-1 five-inning win over Robert Morris (Ill.). They then beat Bethel (Tenn.) 6-2.
With the two wins, the Owls move to 6-5 on the season.
The Owls next travel to Avila (Mo.) on Tuesday, Feb. 25, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.

Lindy Wilson started the scoring for the Owls as she crossed home plate on
Celeste Sermeno's RBI single in the top of the third.
Devyn Burton then doubled to score Sermeno, and Burton scored on
Bri Devellano's RBI single to center field to give the Owls a 3-0 lead after three.
The Owls took a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning as
Jessi Butler scored on
Abbi Pringer's RBI single to third and
Regan Wilde scored on Sermeno's RBI fielder's choice.
The Owls had a huge fifth inning as they plated four runs to take up a 9-0 lead. With Butler and Wilde on base, Wilson hit a bases clearing triple to the left field fence. Wilson scored on the next at-bat with
Kenzie Ausfahl's RBI single through the hole at short stop. K. Ausfahl scored the fourth run on Sermeno's RBI single to shallow left field.
RMU plated one in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out RBI double. With the final out of the fifth inning, the Owls held an eight-run lead, ending the game at the conclusion of five.
The Owls put up 14 hits with eight batters recording at least one hit. Pringer went 3-for-4 from the plate. Sermeno went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored.
Madison Ausfahl (1-1) pitched the complete game win. She tossed 5.0 innings and struck out two while allowing just one earned run.

With bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the first, BU plated two runs on a two RBI double. The Owls finished the inning with a double play to get out of the inning.
In the top of the fourth, Pringer led off with a single to right-center field. She was brought home on Sermeno's RBI double to deep left-center field.
The Owls took a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning as they plated three runs. Burton scored first for the Owls on a Pringer RBI double down the left field line.
Anna Counts then scored on Sermeno's RBI single to shallow left field, and Pringer scored on
Ally Mahoney's RBI single to just past short stop.
The Owls added two more runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-2 lead.
Taylor Bell led off the inning with a single, and
Hanna Knipp followed with a single of her own. Burton hit a sacrifice bunt to move each up a base, and
Emma Taylor hit an RBI single to shallow right-center field to score Bell. Knipp then scored on
Anna Counts' RBI single to the infield. The Owls left bases loaded as the final out came.
The Owls' defense left a runner stranded on third in the bottom of the seventh to win the game, 6-2.
The Owls again put together 14 hits with eight players recorded at least one hit. Counts went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Sermeno went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Mychael Jett (2-1) pitched the complete game win. She struck out four in her seven innings in the circle and allowed just two runs.
