ATHENS, Tenn. – The No. 9 William Woods University men's tennis team was upset by No. 10 Tennessee Wesleyan University Sunday afternoon, 5-2. The Owls move to 2-1 on the season.
The Owls travel to No. 21 Campbellsville University on Monday, March 2, at 10 a.m.

Patrick Shelepov won the first set of the match in the No. 3 doubles, 6-4.
Jesus Amezcua and
Zach Frisbie finished next with a 7-5 decision in the No. 2 doubles, giving the Owls a 1-0 lead over TWU heading into singles play.
Aaron Westerlund and
Nathan Cooke closed out doubles play with a 7-5 win in the No. 1 doubles.
TWU evened the score by winning in the No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 decision over
Sam Bird.
Shelepov's 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 2 singles put the Owls back in the lead, but TWU won the next two, taking a 3-2 lead over the Owls. They went on to win out, ending it with a 5-2 decision.
